What are the basic steps to selling on Skroutz Marketplace?
The process generally includes the following steps:
What are some of the benefits that Skroutz Marketplace offers to customers?
Skroutz Marketplace offers several features that customers love, which can indirectly benefit your sales.
These include buy now and installment payment options, the Skroutz Plus loyalty program with free shipping and offers, Skroutz gift cards, deliveries to Cyprus and the EU, Skroutz Points for convenient pickup, Express Delivery on thousands of products, consumer protection guarantees and free returns.
How can I start selling on Skroutz and what are the two available fulfillment options?
To sell on Skroutz Marketplace, you can choose between two fulfillment models: Core and FBM (Fulfilled by Merchant).
Each model defines how orders are shipped and who handles the delivery process — Skroutz or the merchant. Your choice will determine your daily operations, costs, and responsibilities.
Read below to learn more about each model and decide which one suits your business best.
What is the Core model?
In the Core model, Skroutz handles the shipping of orders to customers on behalf of the merchant.
➤ How does it work?
-
The merchant accepts the order and specifies:
-
the date and time of pickup
-
the number of parcels
-
-
Skroutz arranges pickup through a partnered courier
-
The merchant prints and attaches the shipping voucher on each parcel
-
If the courier does not collect the parcel on the scheduled day, pickup is automatically rescheduled for the next working day — no action required
➤ When do payments happen?
-
Payments are processed every Thursday for completed card orders
What is the FBM (Fulfilled by Merchant) model?
In the FBM model, the merchant is fully responsible for shipping orders to customers.
➤ How does it work?
-
The merchant:
-
Accepts the order
-
Adds the courier company and tracking number
-
Selects the handover date and time
-
-
Recommended couriers (for better tracking): ACS, DHL, DPD, GLS, Geniki Taxydromiki
-
If using a different courier, it’s important to provide the courier’s name (not a URL)
➤ Order acceptance deadlines:
Estimated Delivery Time | Acceptance Deadline |
---|---|
1–3 days | 6 business hours |
4–10 days | 8 business hours |
10–30 days | 8–16 business hours (depending on order type) |
⚠ Orders not accepted in time will expire, which leads to a poor customer experience.
➤ When do payments happen?
-
Payments are made on the 1st and 15th of each month, depending on order completion
How are returns handled?
-
Core: Skroutz manages returns, shipping, and costs
-
FBM: The merchant adds courier and tracking information for returns manually
What is the service commission?
The Marketplace fee covers the following:
- Product display, promotion and sale service
- Sales/reputation/review protection costs (e.g., reviews management for shipping or after sales is not required as the Skroutz Marketplace takes care of these actions)
The fee is calculated separately for each product in the order based on the pricing group it belongs to, while the administrative cost is based on the delivery location, volumetric weight and type of customer who placed the order (Plus/Core user). You can see the fees and costs in detail in the Partner Area, here. |
